About the Opportunity

The Senior Software Engineer role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable software solutions that support the program's core business and platform capabilities. This position is responsible for end-to-end technical ownership, driving quality and operational excellence, and mentoring other engineers. The role significantly impacts the organization by ensuring robust, secure, and efficient systems that advance healthcare technology and contribute to improving health equity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on designing and implementing scalable software solutions supporting core business needs
• Own complex technical areas including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support
• Set coding standards, review designs and pull requests, and enhance system quality and maintainability
• Work cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and partner teams to develop technical solutions
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance and feedback
• Identify and reduce technical debt through refactoring and modernization efforts
• Contribute to system reliability, including monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and improvements
• Embed security, compliance, and best practices throughout development and delivery stages

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot
• 7+ years building and consuming APIs, including RESTful services and distributed systems
• 5+ years front-end development experience using Angular and/or React
• 5+ years working in cloud-native environments, preferably Microsoft Azure
• 5+ years working with data platforms such as MySQL and Snowflake
• 2+ years using observability and monitoring tools like Datadog or Glitchtip
• 2+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions
• 2+ years mentoring engineers and promoting continuous improvement
• Preferred: Experience in healthcare technology and interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR)

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The salary for this role ranges from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment.
