Senior Software Engineer

Relias, the company changing lives throughout the world by helping healthcare organizations improve their clinical and financial outcomes, is seeking a Principal Engineer to drive technological excellence and innovation across multiple teams.

About the role

As the foremost technical expert within our engineering organization, you will shape strategic decisions, guide technical direction, and ensure the integration of advanced engineering practices. This role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms like Azure and GCP, proficiency in microservices architecture, and a blend of technical mastery, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. You will mentor teams, resolve complex technical challenges, and champion best practices in software development while collaborating with senior leaders to align technological developments with long-term organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute advanced development tasks for both frontend and backend using .NET Core, C#, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React), ensuring robust, scalable, and business-aligned software solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, solution validation, and architectural leadership on complex projects, focusing on innovation and high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with Team Leads, Managers, Architects, Cloud Engineers, and other stakeholders to define project goals, establish technical standards, and set timelines, contributing strategically to project planning and execution.
• Analyze existing applications for performance improvements, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance system performance and scalability.
• Mentor associates, mid-level developers, and new team members, promoting a learning culture and continuous improvement within the team.
• Oversee code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and promote overall quality of outputs across all development processes by continually reviewing and refining code quality metrics.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation to support development and ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years in a senior role focusing on .NET and JavaScript technologies.
• Proven track record of successful project execution in a team-specific context, demonstrating the ability to lead projects within a specialized team environment.
• Experience building native cloud applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Microsoft AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals Certification (if certification is not current, must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment).
• AI-200 Certification: Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate Certification (if certification is not current, must be obtained within the first 6 months of start date).

Pay

USD 125,000 - 135,000 (Yearly)

Schedule

This hybrid role requires living in North Carolina within a commutable distance to the Morrisville office. You will be expected to work onsite approximately 30 days per quarter.
