Senior Software Engineer

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Java expertise and full-stack engineering experience to join our team. In this role, you’ll contribute across all layers of the stack: designing and maintaining robust backend systems, and collaborating with frontend teams building shopper-facing applications and embedded JavaScript SDKs.

This position requires hands-on experience in Java and deep proficiency in either metrics transparency & real-time monitoring or web scraping at scale. You’ll be expected to hit the ground running in one or both of these domains.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience writing idiomatic, production-level code in Java (required)
• Experience with one or more of: JavaScript, Golang, Python, Scala, or Ruby
• Experience building resilient, scalable backend systems using modern architectures (HTTP REST, GraphQL, stream processing, big data pipelines, etc.)
• 3 years’ experience in metrics transparency, real-time monitoring systems, or web scraping pipelines
• 3 years’ experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and SaaS concepts
• 3 years’ experience deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting production systems
• 3 years’ experience with Git-based version control (GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.) and modern CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.)

Pay

The compensation for this role is $175,000. Salary is based around a number of factors including geography, experience, and skillset.
