About the role
Microsoft’s Business & Industry Copilots group is a rapidly growing organization responsible for Copilot Studio, the Microsoft Dynamics 365 suite of products, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, AI Builder, and Microsoft Industry Solutions. The AI Orchestration team within Copilot Studio leverages and optimizes generative AI models to perform actions, make decisions, and create responses within conversational and autonomous agents. These capabilities power millions of agents daily, integrating with Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Teams, IVR/voice products, and web-based agents. The team is at the forefront of analyzing, experimenting with, and productizing new AI innovations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements.
- Drives design documentation and dependency identification.
- Builds, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and maintains high-quality code.
- Designs and runs experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of changes.
- Partners with product managers to deliver project and release plans.
- Acts as Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) and participates in on-call rotations.
- Proactively adopts new technologies to improve reliability, performance, and observability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 7+ years of software engineering experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, React, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of industry experience in full-stack or backend development shipping services through multiple releases.
- Experience building generative AI applications or services.
- Experience with the Power Platform or M365 Enterprise development.
Pay
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. A different range applies to specific work locations, including the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, where the base pay range is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
