Senior Software Engineer

Roger Healthcare is hiring Senior Software Engineers (5–10+ years) to join a lean, high-ownership engineering team building the next generation of AI-powered healthcare products. This is a backend-leaning full-stack role for engineers who thrive in early-stage startups, move quickly, and want significant ownership over Generative AI, LLM-powered workflows, scalable backend systems, and zero-to-one products.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale production backend services and infrastructure using Python.
• Develop LLM and Generative AI-powered workflows and applications.
• Own projects end-to-end — from MVP/prototype to production.
• Design reliable, secure, observable, and scalable systems.
• Improve backend architecture, performance, testing, and code quality.
• Collaborate directly with engineers and the CTO in a flat, fast-moving team.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years in backend-focused or full-stack software engineering.
• Strong Python backend development experience.
• Proven experience in an early-stage startup (Pre-Seed to Series B).
• Demonstrated ability to own complex projects and ship quickly.
• Strong software architecture, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Evidence of technical excellence through strong engineering achievements, leadership, high-growth startup experience, competitive programs, or similar accomplishments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Production experience with LLMs, Generative AI, AI agents, or AI-powered applications.
• Healthcare / HealthTech / Digital Health experience.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, React Native, AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB.

About the Role

You are a hands-on senior engineer, not just a manager. You can understand and explain your code, make sound technical decisions, operate with limited supervision, and turn ambiguous problems into production-ready solutions. Startup experience is highly preferred. Candidates whose experience is exclusively at large enterprises may not be a fit unless they have worked in a highly autonomous, startup-like environment.

Experience with companies such as Ambience Healthcare, Notable, or comparable Healthcare AI, Digital Health, HealthTech, and AI startups (Seed–Series C) is highly relevant.
