Senior Software Engineer

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions using Java and AWS technologies. This role is part of a larger team working on Mastercard's O T NGFT project, focusing on failover strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure software systems using Java and AWS services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud-native development and AWS services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with Java and AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and familiarity with testing frameworks like JUnit.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.

Skills

• Proficiency in Java programming language.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
• Understanding of cloud-native principles and practices.
• Good understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.
