About the role
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions using Java and AWS technologies. This role is part of a larger team working on Mastercard's O T NGFT project, focusing on failover strategies.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure software systems using Java and AWS services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud-native development and AWS services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with Java and AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and familiarity with testing frameworks like JUnit.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
Skills
- Proficiency in Java programming language.
- Experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
- Understanding of cloud-native principles and practices.
- Good understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.
