About the role
As an IT team member, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing technology solutions that are the foundation of the world-class customer service that our customers expect and deserve—now and in the future. You will provide application software development services or technical support typically in a defined project. Develop program logic for new applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications. Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications. Analyze requirements and maintain, test, and integrate application components. Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented.
This position is open to Virginia residents as Richmond or Lynchburg, VA hybrid in-office applicants or remote applicants residing in states/locations under Eastern or Central Standard Time: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, or Wisconsin. Hybrid in-office would be required if you reside within 50 miles of our Richmond or Lynchburg, VA office. Required in-office days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementations
- Develop, maintain, and release web-related user interfaces and prepare systems design documentation by applying company, industry, and governmental standards
- Create, develop, and maintain systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs, and assisting in identifying design discrepancies using design tools
- Create navigation structures and information designs; construct prototypes, storyboards, and mockups to effectively communicate design to business analysts & Enterprise Architecture team, including developing graphic designs that communicate the ideas promoted by the requirements
- Perform user experience activities on projects as necessary
- Demonstrate technical leadership ability in AngularJS v1, HTML5, CSS3, and communication with RESTful web services from JavaScript
- Perform code reviews and collaborate with peer designers/developers on project work
- Provide limited system support and maintenance for existing systems in the Application Development Services area
- Guide and lead offshore development on projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred advanced degree in a relevant discipline
- 8 to 10 years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) discipline
- 5+ years of full systems development lifecycle experience building custom web applications using JavaScript, HTML
- 5+ years of technical experience working with Java
- Experience with OpenText Exstream, MySQL
- 5 to 7 years of experience defining and documenting business and technical requirements, developing and testing software for corporations (financial/insurance sector preferred)
- Experience working with internal resources and flexibility to utilize an offshore delivery center operating in a different time zone from the primary work location
- Experience directing and supervising third-party suppliers in the fulfillment of projects or application support
- Experience establishing operational and process controls to measure and verify that established processes, procedures, and audit controls are followed
- Experience monitoring and managing SLAs and exceeding customer expectations with large volumes of requests
- Exceptional intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Progressive experience in information technology with emphasis in Software Development and Quality Assurance
- Knowledge and experience in software development methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, prototyping, rapid application development)

- Experience using open-source JavaScript libraries

Pay
National Range: $96,700 - $145,000. Actual compensation will vary based on geographic location, experience, skills, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in a bonus incentive plan. Incentive compensation is based on individual and company performance and is not guaranteed.
