Senior Software Engineer
About the role
Fitch Group Technology has a number of agile teams that deliver world-class innovative solutions to Fitch Group internal and external customers. This position will be within one of our agile teams delivering software products for our BMI business.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy cloud native container based financial applications
- Developing new GenAI backend in Python
- Design, develop GenAI application Python and AWS Bedrock service
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
- Optimize components to work seamlessly across different browsers and devices
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing distributed application architecture of moderate-to-high complexity
- 5+ years in python, vector database, FASTAPI, Pytest, Docker
- In-depth knowledge and experience of Langchain, Langgraph, Agent development, MCP
- Experience with GenAI/RAG, Agentic RAG
- Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgresSql
- Experience with AWS Lambda, AWS Bedrock service, embedding models, Re-ranker, Doclinq
- Experience in working with scrum, keeping track of your sprint item in JIRA and completing everything on time.
- Knowledge of performance testing frameworks including Mocha and Jest
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems
- Ability to lead offshore team
- Experience working with multicultural global technology teams in the financial industry

Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $150,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.

This position will be within one of our agile teams delivering software products for our BMI business. The position is expected to be a hybrid (in-office / Work from Home) arrangement, in a collaborative and supportive work environment where your ideas and contributions are valued with a focus on achievable improvements that get used every day.
