Senior Software Engineer
About the role
Fitch Group Technology has a number of agile teams that deliver world-class innovative solutions to Fitch Group internal and external customers. This position will be within one of our agile teams delivering software products for our BMI business. You will play a key role in implementing tools and processes that aim to improve the quality of our end-to-end code while creating a more efficient and sustainable workflow for our customers. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native container-based financial applications
- Develop new user experiences using React JS
- Design and develop REST-based API Services using NodeJS/Python
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
- Optimize components to work seamlessly across different browsers and devices
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing distributed application architecture of moderate-to-high complexity
- 5+ years in Nest JS, React JS, Open Search, C#, Docker
- In-depth knowledge of TypeScript, SCSS, HTML, and front-end languages
- Experience with REACT tools including React.js, React Hooks, Redux/MobX/Recoil or other state management frameworks
- Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MSSQL
- Experience working with Scrum, tracking sprint items in JIRA, and completing tasks on time
- Knowledge of performance testing frameworks including Mocha and Jest
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems
- Experience leading offshore teams
- Experience working with multicultural global technology teams in the financial industry
- Exceptionally self-motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with AWS DynamoDB, AWS Neptune, Lambda, S3, DocumentDB
- Familiarity with modern data architecture and engineering technologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $150,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
