Senior Software Engineer
About the role
This position is essential for supporting DIVER, BDSQL, METASTOR & FASTOLA. Under minimal supervision, the Senior Software Engineer assists in developing software products and works on improving the overall quality of the product throughout the software development life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain DIVER, BDSQL, METASTOR & FASTOLA
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions that meet business requirements
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and adherence to best practices
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical strategy
- Support production systems and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Works on broad problems of scope that require decision making and creativity
- Preemptively identifies and resolves technical risks before they jeopardize the project
- Resolves cross-team dependencies earlier to ensure the successful execution of the project
- Possesses a solid understanding and familiarity of systems and processes within job area
- Delivers many of the team’s goals on time and with a high standard of quality
- Commits to resolving technical challenges and risks
- Helps team identify, prioritize, and deliver on clear short, mid and long-term goals aligned to the business
- Avoids blame and solves the right problems, disagreeing and committing when necessary to move decisions forward
- Demonstrated understanding in computer science fundamentals - Algorithm design, Problem solving, Complexity analysis and data structures
- Strong experience with Bigdata Engineering/Operations Excellence: Solves complex business problems, situations, processes based on existing theories of frameworks
- Implements ways to simplify code and infrastructure
- Prioritizes tasks that lead to lower system and infrastructure maintenance and migration costs with meaningful and measurable impact
- Examines problems from different perspectives and uses evaluation, judgement, and interpretation to select right course of action
- Helps team identify, prioritize, and deliver on clear short, mid and long-term goals aligned to the business
- Avoids blame and solves the right problems, disagreeing and committing when necessary to move decisions forward
- Demonstrates the culture of intelligence, integrity, and initiative in day-to-day actions with the team

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience
- System design experience
- Strong experience in object-oriented development
- Strong experience with cloud technologies
- Strong experience in data storage technologies
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization
- Experience in DevOps and CI\CD technologies
- Experience test automation and unit testing
- Experience software security
Qualifications
- Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience.

- Core TECH Skills: AWS Core services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, API Gateway
- QuickSight for dashboards and data visualization
- CloudWatch, CloudTrail, X-Ray for monitoring and troubleshooting
- IAM, Security services, VPC networking
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- Programming & Development: Python, Node.js, Go, or similar
- Java Frontend applications (React, Angular, Vue.js)
- RESTful API design and microservices architecture
- CI/CD pipelines (GitLab exposure preferred)
- Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora)
