Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- API Design & Development: Design, build, test, debug, and document production-grade software (APIs) based on technical configurations, ensuring reliable and performant data delivery.
- Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Partner with analysts, product managers, and other engineers to translate business needs into scalable systems, managing projects from design through deployment and ongoing support.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage cloud service providers (AWS/GCP) to run and observe API workloads, ensuring high availability and operational efficiency.
- System Maintenance: Support, update, and maintain existing systems in response to business needs, defects, and evolving requirements.
- Architecture & Mentorship: Contribute to system architecture decisions and help shape team-wide engineering practices through collaboration and code reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and maintaining production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, and/or Node.js with TypeScript, with hands-on experience building and operating production-grade RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query tuning, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) and modern engineering practices (Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and incremental delivery).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and a desire to take problems to completion.
Nice to Have
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
