Senior Software Engineer, Application Security - AV and Software Infrastructure

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Application Security - AV and Software Infrastructure to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will focus on strengthening the security of application and software infrastructure across distributed systems and development workflows. You will partner closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to identify risk early, implement practical controls, and improve secure development practices at scale. The work will span secure design reviews, vulnerability remediation, and the creation of reusable security tooling that helps teams ship safely and efficiently. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $224,000 – $356,500 annually Responsibilities Review application designs and code to identify security risks before deployment Design and implement authentication and authorization controls for APIs and services Build reusable libraries and tools to simplify secure development practices Enhance application handling of credentials, sensitive data, and security logging Integrate security checks into development and CI/CD workflows with clear remediation paths Investigate application vulnerabilities and collaborate on fixes with service owners Partner with infrastructure and corporate security teams to prioritize and measure improvements Qualifications 12+ years of relevant experience in application or product security BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience Strong programming skills in Go, Python, Java, C++, or similar languages Practical understanding of web and API security, authentication, and common vulnerabilities Experience with threat modeling and security reviews for distributed systems Ability to translate security findings into actionable engineering changes Clear communication skills and collaborative experience with engineering teams Benefits Equity opportunities Comprehensive benefits package Flexible work environment Access to cutting-edge technology and tools Opportunities for professional development and growth Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
