Senior Software Engineer: AI Gateway

About the role

Delinea is a pioneer in securing human and machine identities through intelligent, centralized authorization. The company's cloud-native Identity Security Platform uses AI-powered intelligence to discover, assign access levels, detect irregularities, and respond to threats in real-time across various environments.

Responsibilities

• Build new AI security features into our access proxy product, focusing on protocols like Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Connect the access proxy product to the Delinea Platform and prove the experience with real customers.
• Migrate these features into the Delinea Platform as the product matures, ensuring smooth transitions for existing customers.
• Enforce just-in-time access and policy decisions in the request path, leveraging the platform's identity and authorization building blocks.
• Partner with product and platform teams to ensure successful integration and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Typically 8 or more years of hands-on experience building production backend or networking systems.
• Strong skills in a modern backend language such as Go, C#, Java, or Rust.
• Experience evolving products across releases, including moving capabilities between systems without disrupting customers.
• Experience with secure access technologies such as privileged access management, zero trust network access, or SSH, RDP, and database proxying.
• Familiarity with AI agents, Model Context Protocol, or Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Background in security or identity.

Qualifications

• US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Skills

• Hands-on experience with proxies, gateways, and API gateways.
• Ability to work complex problems with limited direction and make sound design trade-offs.
