Senior Software Engineer - Acquisition and Funnel
Rocket · Michigan, United States · 3 wk ago
Engineering$112k–$239k/yrFull-time
About the role
This team owns RocketLoans.com and the borrower experience from the first landing page through the application funnel. That includes the intake flow, offer-code entry, and refinance pre-qualification. The work directly impacts conversion, revenue, and whether someone gets the loan they came for. The team is heavily frontend focused and driven by experimentation. You’ll work within a shared design system, run A/B tests, and use analytics to understand how users move through the funnel.
Responsibilities
- Own meaningful product and technical initiatives end to end
- Work directly with product and business partners to make tradeoffs that actually matter
- Measure success by impact: conversion, adoption, reliability, and real user outcomes
Requirements
- Product Mindset: Start with the user and the business problem, not the solution. Understand what the end user is trying to accomplish, why it matters, and how success is measured before writing a line of code.
- End-to-end Ownership: If you build it, you stay connected to it from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, fixes, and future improvements.
- Pragmatic Approach: Value simple, durable solutions over clever ones. Know when to invest in long-term architecture and when to optimize for speed and learning.
- Bias toward Action: Don’t wait for perfect requirements or complete clarity. Break complex problems into smaller steps, ship incrementally, learn from real usage, and adjust quickly.
- Clear, direct communication: Explain decisions, tradeoffs, and impact clearly to engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders. Contribute through demos, discussions, and collaboration, not just pull requests.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on experience building, shipping, and supporting production software using Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
- A true full-stack engineer who owns features end to end across frontend and backend.
- Comfortable deep in the code and confident making architectural decisions and tradeoffs.
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, production monitoring and observability, post-production support and iteration.
- Experience handling regulated or sensitive data (PII/PIFI) responsibly and intentionally.
Skills
- Experience with Next.js and NestJS
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL with TypeORM
- Understanding of Docker and AWS infrastructure
- Experience with microservices architecture
