About the role

The Joining Amazon Technology team is building innovative solutions to revolutionize the way we onboard 2.8 million Amazon new workers a year in over 60 countries. We do not depend on third party monolithic HR systems. Our software uses Amazon Web Services to intelligently work through the complexity of country and role differences, and ensure new hires start successfully on Day 1 with delightful onboarding experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Arcitect and build business critical, highly available, large scale, distributed systems
  • Lead software architecture and design reviews and influence software architecture across our organization and other Amazon software organizations
  • Design and build software with quality, robustness, and Amazon sized scale as top priorities
  • Collaborate across technical teams, UX design teams, product and program teams, customers, and stakeholders
  • Identify the right technologies to delight customers by working backwards from customer needs and working directly with customers to test prototypes and incorporate feedback
  • Coach and mentor engineers on the team to foster a supportive culture of collaboration and delivery to high standards
  • Define and drive SW best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, agile development, build processes, and testing

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Skills

  • Full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $168,100.00 - $227,400.00 USD annually.
