Senior Software Development Engineer, Kinesis Data Streams

About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is excited about the incredible opportunity that cloud computing represents, and is passionate about delivering high quality services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities can shift fast.

Responsibilities

• Solve difficult problems, applying appropriate technologies and best practices.
• Work with your team to invent, design and build software that is stable and performant.
• Be proficient in a broad range of design approaches and know when it is appropriate to use them (and when it is not).
• Create flexible software without over-engineering.
• Work on project ideas with customers, stakeholders, and peers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Experience with Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
• Experience supporting customers requiring specialized security solutions for their cloud services

Skills

• Ability to solve complex problems
• Proficiency in multiple software programming languages
• Experience in designing and building scalable systems
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
