About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. You’ll work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, collaborating with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver high standards for safety, security, and seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

The supply chain planning group within AWS Infrastructure is building a new suite of tools to automate AWS supply chain planning, responsible for tactical decisions like data center operations, demand fulfillment, and replenishment, as well as long-term decisions like inventory management and network design. The solutions developed are scalable to sustain rapid AWS growth and flexible to support the evolving supply chain.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you’ll work on high-impact problems with the opportunity to influence billions of dollars in spend. The team includes strong senior engineering and science talent, providing a great environment for delivering results while advancing your career.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and manage a team of Software Development Engineers.
  • Drive operational excellence.
  • Contribute to and lead design, architecture, process, and development discussions.
  • Advocate for the right outcomes using data, conviction, and diplomacy.
  • Build scalable mechanisms to audit and inspect cross-functional initiatives spanning operations, supply chain specialists, and software engineers.
  • Drive product strategy, roadmap, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Pay

Base salary range: $168,100.00 - $227,400.00 USD annually (USA, WA, Seattle). Your compensation package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
