About the role

Build world-class SLS materials for 3D printing from initial lab explorations to validation and commercialization. Lead research that pushes the boundaries of SLS material performance, turning discoveries into next-gen solutions. Partner with product, hardware, and software teams to iterate and improve material performance based on customer feedback. Develop methodologies to evaluate material formulations in coordination with SLS print systems—balancing material chemistry, thermal dynamics, and printing parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Bring a new material to market from ideation to production
  • Apply a solid understanding of the fundamentals of materials science and polymer product development
  • Leverage hands-on experience in thermo-plastic engineering
  • Test and troubleshoot rigorously; comfortable iterating hundreds of times
  • Design and conduct data-driven experiments to optimize materials
  • Work autonomously and take initiative to learn new skills
  • Maintain clear, thorough documentation

Qualifications

  • B.S., M.S., or PhD in a relevant science or engineering field

Bonus Skills

  • Experience developing materials for 3D printing, especially for SLA/DLP or SLS printers
  • 3D CAD modeling
  • Programming skills (Python, Matlab, SQL, etc.)

Pay

Annual base pay range: $115,000—$142,000 USD. Full-time employees also receive equity in the form of RSUs; your financial investment will grow with your impact on the organization.
