Senior Site Civil Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead design and plan production for site civil engineering projects, including site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, site utilities, and horizontal and vertical control
- Serve as Engineer of Record and technical lead for complex site development projects, applying advanced engineering judgment and expertise to develop innovative and practical solutions
- Prepare, review, and oversee engineering plans, technical specifications, contract documents, cost estimates, and quantity calculations
- Lead permitting efforts and coordinate with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and jurisdictional authorities
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality projects that meet client objectives
- Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as needed
- Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed
- Plan, organize and supervise work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
- Serve as a Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the sole focus of this position
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and design staff through technical guidance, quality reviews, training, and professional development support
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and industry standards
- Provide engineering support during construction, including review of shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and site visits
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project strategies and deliver integrated, client-focused solutions
- Travel periodically within the region and nationally to support project pursuits, client meetings, site investigations, construction observations, and project execution activities
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)
- Project Engineering and Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced understanding across the full spectrum of site civil design including site selection, due diligence, master planning, site design (demolition plans, grading, drainage design, stormwater management, utility design, and civil details)
- Experience with mission critical, water, healthcare, commercial, industrial, or federal site development projects
- Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as Hydraflow, PCSWMM, PondPack, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD, or similar software
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting requirements and regulatory processes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, drainage, utility, corridor, and earthwork design
- Established relationships with clients, agencies, and industry organizations within the region
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Bluebeam Revu, Google communication products, and other document control platforms
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends, including BIM, digital delivery, civil design automation, and artificial intelligence applications for engineering workflows
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
