A day in the life
An AWS Security Specialist SA is the deep-domain security expert for the Global Government sales leaders. Day-to-day, you design secure architectures with customers, build proof-of-concepts using services like Security Hub and GuardDuty, deliver hands-on workshops, and respond to specialist requests from field teams. A major part of the role is scaling through others—training generalist SAs to lead security conversations independently—and producing thought leadership like blog posts and reference architectures. The philosophy: security is an enabling function, not a blocker. Success means customers are more secure and the field is more self-sufficient.
