Senior Security IAM Engineer
About the role
The Senior Security Engineer will be part of the Enterprise Security organization, specializing in directory services and SaaS applications. This role focuses on large implementations of Entra ID with integrations across directories, IDPs, applications, and automated workflows. You will provide technical direction, administer tools, and support various security technologies while driving Enterprise Security projects that leverage cloud directory services for internal and external Adobe services.
You will collaborate with specialists, architects, security teams, and software engineers across Adobe to deliver secure identity solutions, guidance, and strategies that protect services and data while adhering to global government regulations. This role involves working with business customers, management, infrastructure and development teams, project managers, and other security teams to implement vision, structure, standards, and solutions supporting future architecture.

Responsibilities
- Manage deep and complex directory architectures and services spanning directories, IDPs, and federated environments.
- Provide guidance and architect solutions for directory service strategies across internal Adobe customers.
- Test, implement, and support secure services used by end-users, devices, and application workflows.
- Engineer secure identity solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Handle incoming requests, respond to issues, solve reported problems, and develop solutions as part of a Security Engineering team.
- Collaborate with teams to gather business requirements, understand workflows, and devise solutions.
- Assess SaaS implementations for identity integrations and general security.
- Generate useful metrics to aid decision-making, identify issues, and manage services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in MIS, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Engineering OR 10+ years of experience in IT or Cybersecurity.
- Comfortable leading and working on multiple projects with diverse teams simultaneously.
- In-depth understanding of Windows, Mac, and UNIX/Linux systems, permissions, and interoperability.
- Strong knowledge of machine-to-machine and application-to-machine connections using MFA, certificates, tokens, and other methods.
- Strong understanding of the identity lifecycle, secure-by-design principles, least privilege, and zero trust.
- In-depth knowledge of managing and securing Entra ID cloud directories (AWS and Okta experience is beneficial) and integrating with traditional directories (e.g., Active Directory, 389DS, LDAP).
- Proficient in written and verbal communication, capable of working with differing viewpoints to achieve shared objectives.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical users, architects, and senior leadership.
- Professional written, verbal, and presentation skills to engage with senior leadership.
- Deep understanding of Cloud Directories, especially Entra ID, including securing them, using conditional access policies, and creating automation.
- Ability to teach, mentor, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Leadership skills to model and grow others’ leadership behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of desktop operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac.
- Experience or knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages for automating repeatable tasks (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Experience with dashboarding and log correlation engines such as Grafana, Telegraph, Splunk, etc.
- Experience with SaaS Security Posture Management technologies.
- Experience developing PowerBI dashboards.

Pay
The U.S. pay range for this position is $168,200 – $310,100 annually, varying by work location and depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Specific pay ranges for certain states:
- California: $214,100 – $310,100
- Washington: $194,000 – $281,000
For sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), with short-term incentives in the form of sales commission plans. For non-sales roles, starting salaries are expressed as base salary, with short-term incentives in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Certain roles may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
