Senior Security Engineer - Threat Detection

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Security Engineer - Threat Detection to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will focus on strengthening threat detection capabilities across a modern technology environment, with an emphasis on building scalable, high-fidelity detections and improving coverage across diverse telemetry sources. The ideal candidate will partner closely with Security Operations and threat intelligence stakeholders to turn emerging risks into actionable detection logic. This position also supports automation, data analysis, and experimentation to improve the speed and effectiveness of the security function as the organization continues to scale globally. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $157,675 – $238,500 annually Responsibilities Build and improve MITRE ATT&CK-aligned detections for various telemetry types Own the full detection lifecycle from hypothesis to retirement Advance the detection-as-code platform with version control and automated testing Identify emerging threats and enhance data ingestion and coverage Evaluate AI capabilities for threat hunting and anomaly detection Transform threat intelligence into actionable detections Work closely with Security Operations on incident investigations and maintenance Support a high-growth, global organization through strong security practices and cross-functional partnership Qualifications 6+ years in security engineering, detection engineering, or a related technology discipline Strong Python and SQL skills for analyzing large datasets Hands-on experience with detection-as-code, Git workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD Deep experience with modern SIEM platforms, including advanced queries and dashboards Working knowledge of AWS, Linux, containers, and EDR Benefits Flexible employee-led remote working model Professional development stipend available Comprehensive health and parental leave plans Opportunities for above-market performance-based bonuses and equity Culture that supports career advancement and experimentation in a hyper-growth environment Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
