Senior Security Engineer
About the role
The Senior Security Engineer will contribute to achieving P&L objectives for the business through providing a single point of accountability for Technology & Operations deliverables. This role will provide technical security leadership on multiple programs and security operations to ensure IT security best practices and IT compliance requirements are met for both industry and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Technology Engineers, Developers, IT Compliance, and cross-functional stakeholders to align security requirements and controls to meet business objectives
- Functions as the primary technical owner and subject matter expert (SME) for the CrowdStrike platform including Falcon, Fusion SOAR, Identity Protection, LogScale, NextGen SIEM, etc.
- Designs, builds, and maintains custom Indicators of Attack (IOAs) aligned to evolving threat activity, adversary techniques, and organizational risk
- Configures and optimizes Falcon workflows, automated responses, and policy logic to improve detection fidelity and response speed
- Leverages CrowdStrike AI agents and behavioral analytics to enhance detection, containment, and threat prevention capabilities
- Continuously tunes Falcon detections to reduce false positives while maintaining strong security coverage
- Documents engineering decisions, detection logic, workflows, and best practices to ensure operational continuity
- Aids with the implementation, configuration, and operations of various security tools as required
- Trips SOC alerts and phishing emails, resolves employee tickets, and participates in a limited on-call rotation as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- 6+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network security, and/or infrastructure engineering
- Demonstrated success using CrowdStrike AI-driven features and behavioral detections in production environments
- 5+ years of experience in CrowdStrike policy administration, building & maintaining custom IOAs, creating & managing custom workflows, and scheduled searches
- CrowdStrike certifications preferred
- Strong experience supporting or partnering with Security Operations and Incident Response teams
- Experience working in enterprise environments with diverse endpoint operating systems and configurations
- Experience streamlining processes, automating manual tasks, and using technical and non-technical solutions to solve complex problems
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of operating effectively in a fast-paced, evolving security environment
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure while managing time-sensitive incidents and competing priorities
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, driven to determine root cause and risk mitigation
- Highly detail-oriented, process-minded, and driven by continuous improvement attitude
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate risks, identify gaps, and implement practical solutions
- Willingness and ability to flex between strategic leadership and hands-on technical execution as needed
Qualifications

Pay
The current full-time annualized hiring range for this role is $104,400.00-$149,270.00 and does not include discretionary bonus or sales incentives, if applicable. In accordance with applicable state laws, we are providing the expected salary range for this position. Individual compensation will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, current business needs and local market factors.
