What You Will Do

  • Cook up efforts to ensure that environmental justice and the requirements of the HEAL act (SB 5141) are integrated throughout section projects.
  • Facilitate consultation and engagement with external stakeholders early and often throughout the policy development process.
  • Lead the development of complex guidance documents regarding major new initiatives or major modifications to policy and program needs, working closely with technical staff and program management.
  • Develop outreach strategies and materials.
  • Lead involvement for internal and external training efforts related to environmental justice.
  • Coach and mentor other planners and project managers regarding best practices for developing and rolling out key rule and policy initiatives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, public policy, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental planning, policy development, or a related field.
  • Experience with environmental justice principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement complex policies and procedures.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

$86,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience.
