Job Description Summary

The LCMS Biologics Senior Scientist – Method Development leads the design and optimization of robust LC-MS bioanalytical methods for complex biologics in regulated environments. This role drives method development from feasibility through pre-validation, including extraction, chromatography, and mass spectrometric detection strategies. The scientist works independently while collaborating cross-functionally with project management, analytical teams, and clients to ensure clear communication and timely delivery. They provide technical leadership by mentoring lab staff, supporting efficient method transfer into routine operations, and ensuring high-quality documentation aligned with regulatory standards. The role also includes presenting data at internal review committees and contributing to scientific publications or conferences. Overall, the position combines deep technical expertise, project ownership, and strong communication to deliver high-impact bioanalytical solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing reliable extraction, chromatographic, and mass spectrometric analysis procedures for highly challenging and complex methods.
  • Documenting all project work according to Method Development processes and procedures.
  • Communicating progress and status to the Director of Method Development and Project Management, as necessary.
  • Presenting method development results at Prevalidation Committee Meetings.
  • Independently interacting with Project Management and clients to provide updates on project status, as necessary.
  • Providing Project Management with clear documentation of methods and working with analytical staff during the method hand-off process after successful method development.
  • Strengthening knowledge in chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques.

The Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Needed For This Role

  • Advanced knowledge in LC/MS theory and Biologic Sample Prep.
  • Knowledge with High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (Thermo orbitraps/Exploris/Excedions).
  • Knowledge with triple quadrupole (Sciex 6500/6500+/7500+).
  • Knowledge with regulated bioanalysis, method developments (LBA/LCMS, proteomics sample prep), and automation.
  • Ability to develop and present well-organized Prevalidation Committee Meeting presentations.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $58,800.00 - $122,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).

Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
