Senior Scientist I, LNP Platform

About the role

Senior Scientist I in the LNP Platform team, serving as an independent technical lead for novel lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation and process development of emerging drug programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, propose, and manage technical projects focused on formulation, conjugation, purification, and process development of LNP-based nucleic acid formulations.
• Lead complex formulation and process development activities, including planning, experimental strategies, risk assessments, and data analysis.
• Conduct DOE-based experiments to optimize LNP formulations and manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists, supporting experimental design, troubleshooting, documentation, and prioritization.
• Resolve formulation and process challenges through root-cause analysis and scientifically justified corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating strategies, progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, protocols, batch records, and SOPs, ensuring clear documentation of scientific rationale and outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD with relevant experience in formulation, biologics, or related fields.
• Proven ability to independently lead development projects from concept to execution.
• Expertise in LNP formulation, nucleic acid delivery, nanoparticle characterization, or lyophilized drug products.
• Strong troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring team members and working in cross-functional teams.
• This role involves hands-on lab work, adhering to SOPs, and making data-driven decisions to advance drug development programs.
