About the Role

The Data & Digital Strategy CORE team within Development Sciences defines and executes our data and digital strategy in collaboration with Dev Sci subject matter experts and Information Research (IR). The team partners cross-functionally to build and maintain a data and systems architecture that enables world-class knowledge management, data analytics, and predictive modeling capabilities.

We are looking for diverse candidates with a blend of product development, informatics, and data systems experience who can help advance our data and digital capabilities.

Purpose

Conceive, design, and implement new technology solutions that solve significant scientific problems through the integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex data. Generate new proposals and lead those efforts. Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods, algorithms, and technologies to derive novel, competitive insights from disparate data sources or drive acceleration of the pipeline and increase probability of success. Act as a lead data scientist in your area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant scientific and technological advances, integrating this knowledge into new strategies for advancing our pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, design, and implement strategies to solve significant scientific problems through the integration, visualization, and analysis of large and complex data.
• Demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise.
• Demonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of technologies related to the storage, transfer, integration, visualization, modeling, and analysis of large and complex data sets, including broad expertise in data warehousing, statistics, and machine learning.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business, utilizing this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions.
• Work highly autonomously and productively, requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor.
• Seize opportunities to pursue relevant leads that align with the group’s strategy.
• Proactively seek out new information and technologies in the literature/public domain and incorporate them into individual project(s) as well as the overall program.
• May mentor/supervise a team of one or more, guiding and evaluating their performance; accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
• Serve as a primary author of publications and presentations.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, and data security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 4 years’ experience; PhD with 2 years’ experience.
• Background in life sciences or work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of your discipline.
• Proven implementation of creative technology solutions that advanced the business.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
