Title: Senior Scientist Location: San Jose, CA Contract Term: 6+ Months Weekly 40.00 hours pay rate: $35-45/hr 1st Shift Description Client Biosciences is a world leader in bringing innovative diagnostic and research tools to life science researchers, clinical researchers, laboratory professionals and clinicians who are involved in basic research, drug discovery and development, biopharmaceutical production and disease management. The Client Biosciences segment is focused on continually advancing the science and applications associated with cellular analysis. Client Biosciences is seeking highly qualified candidates for a six month contract in the R&D “Reagents and Assay Development” organization at the BDB San Jose location. The BDB Reagent Development Group focuses on providing differentiated reagent solutions that uncover truths in biology and medicine. Teams of talented scientists and engineers are responsible for initiating and driving the reagent and assay development projects and integrating assays and flow cytometry instruments to create the next-generation of research and clinical Flow Cytometry platforms. Products include cell analyzers, cell sorters, reagents, assays, and software. Client Biosciences is seeking a candidate who can bring experience of clinical flow cytometry workflows to assist in the launch of clinical reagents to support our clinical flow cytometers. The candidate will be part of the team contributing to launching clinical products for use in European markets. Primary Responsibilities Prepare, run and analyze flow cytometry samples.Preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols of R&D projects.Provides technical expertise for flow cytometry troubleshooting.Effectively coordinate and establish effective working relationships and processes with other functional areas associated with the R&D activities, including Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Medical Affairs, etc. Education And Experience Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences with 3+ years related professional experience in an academic clinical research setting, clinical/diagnostic laboratory, or pharmaceutical/biotechnology R&D environment).Proven experience in process excellence in an R&D environment.Knowledge of Flow Cytometry instruments and applications (immunology).Knowledge of biostatistical methods and data analysis experience is required.Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.Effective analytical and problem solving skills.Effective organization and planning skills.Experience training bench-level personnel and leading projects.Self-starter with a strong work ethics. Preferred M.Sc. in Life Sciences or a combination of education.one to two years’ experience in IVD product development.Ability to influence through effective communication. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication/ presentation skills.Knowledge of clinical and/or research laboratory environment and quality control procedures.Expertise in design of experimental procedures and search literature for targeted information.Strong, proven product development knowledge of processes, measures, etc. (phase gated development systems).
