Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the development of schedules and ongoing schedule updates.
- Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules, contemporaneous documentation, and construction costs.
- Perform inspections of construction project sites, evaluating project progress.
- Review and organize large amounts of construction project documents and data.
- Perform schedule delay analysis to establish the cause and extent of delays and to resolve construction delay claims.
- Evaluate construction productivity and progress data, extended general conditions, and expediting expenses.
- Absess the impact of project changes and schedule delays, effectively communicating findings.
- Operate on behalf of clients to monitor and manage timelines, expenses, and other factors critical to operational efficiency and cost management during all phases of construction.
- Review and synthesize relevant information to prepare technical project reports.
- Maintain job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
- Interface with other department employees, contractors, and clients on a regular basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or equivalent field.
- 5-7 years in construction scheduling experience.
- Holds a PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification, a plus.
- Experience using critical path method (CPM) techniques to analyze construction project schedules.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera 6, and ASTA Powerproject.
- In-depth knowledge of Excel’s compatibility with P6 in regard to automating data imports.
- Experience on large construction projects ($500 million+), a plus.
- Previous experience or exposure to construction claims management and managing contractors.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team towards a common purpose.
- Strong communications skills, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders and clients.
