JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. About the Role

The Senior Scheduler will complete complex activities to prepare project schedules for projects of all sizes and provide team leadership. This position mentors and trains less experienced co-workers and operations employees. Decisions are made independently with consultation as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, builds, and updates project schedules collaboratively with the project team.
  • Performs schedule reviews to ensure effective and efficient best practices; communicates review comments diplomatically.
  • Participates in all phases of construction planning & scheduling, including proposal schedules, baseline schedules, and ongoing updates.
  • Utilizes working knowledge of JE Dunn scheduling software.
  • Assists with training for JE Dunn operations, including content and course preparation.
  • Develops best practices for JE Dunn planning and scheduling efforts.
  • Visits job sites regularly to review job status and update project schedules using construction sequencing knowledge.
  • Attends project-related meetings where schedule emphasis is discussed.
  • Supports Lean and Pull Planning sessions by aligning CPM schedules with pull plan results.
  • Prepares reports as required for assigned projects.
  • Adds resource and cost loading to schedules collaboratively with project teams.
  • Provides planning and scheduling support to operations, marketing, and other IPS functions.
  • Incorporates market and regional information (e.g., seasonal weather, materials markets, labor forces) into project schedules.
  • Participates in pursuit opportunities with business development and project teams.
  • Develops and facilitates planning and scheduling training programs, including content creation and implementation.
  • Leads project teams in assessing sequencing, methods of construction, delays, impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules.
  • Leads best practice and process development efforts for the planning and scheduling group.
  • Develops and maintains a library of standard project schedule templates.
  • Participates in pursuit opportunities, including interviews and external client meetings.
  • Supports project teams in coordinating trade partners’ schedule issues and recovery schedules.
  • Provides feedback in job pre-planning, post-construction, and monthly project status review meetings.
  • Mentors, manages, and coaches direct reports (if applicable).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred). Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of planning and scheduling experience (preferred).

Skills

  • Advanced ability to perform work accurately and completely in a timely manner.
  • Advanced communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
  • Advanced ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Advanced ability to recognize schedule sequencing concerns and improvements during job site visits.
  • Knowledge of construction management means and methods for commercial projects and delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of most types of construction projects and delivery methods.
  • Advanced knowledge of work activity sequencing, durations, scheduling concepts, and best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Lean process and philosophy.
  • Ability to maintain or exceed required reimbursability for self and direct reports.
  • Ability to effectively deal with Change Management delays and claims.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate Pull Planning sessions as required.
  • Ability to provide performance management feedback and complete evaluations.
  • Ability to import schedules into JE Dunn’s standard scheduling software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with team members.

Working Environment

  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs.
  • Normal office environment, but may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, viewing computer screen.
  • Occasional activity: Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
