Senior Scheduler (Civil Engineering)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and coordinate Construction Project Management (“CPM”) schedules for capital projects in the transportation sector across all phases.
  • Prepare Basis of Schedule in accordance with client requirements.
  • Review construction design drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct field visits to project/client sites to assemble necessary data for planning and developing CPM construction schedules in appropriate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) format.
  • Develop logic relationships and activity durations for CPM scheduling activities.
  • Perform bottom-up resource and cost loading.
  • Prepare CPM schedule reports with project duration, including perimetric and unit rate production rates, critical path, total float, milestones, constraints, and related parameters.
  • Perform continuous schedule updates and assist project controls staff in determining earned value management.
  • Review and analyze contractor baseline and monthly progress schedule updates and contractor change order requests to determine their impact on the construction schedule.
  • Report contractors' progress using Earned Value metrics.
  • Prepare and analyze milestone, bar chart, and CPM schedules and make recommendations for mitigating schedule slippage.
  • Utilize P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management software, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Procore extensively.
  • Work approximately 90% of the time at client project sites within North Carolina, with the possibility of working from home up to two days per month.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in the position offered.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management software, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Procore.

Skills

  • Project management skills.
  • Construction industry knowledge.
  • Software proficiency in P6, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Procore.

Schedule

Position based in Raleigh, North Carolina with approximately 90% travel time to client project sites within North Carolina. May work from home up to two days per month, subject to change at any time.
