Senior SCADA Engineer
Overview
FuelCell Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior SCADA Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for advanced fuel cell power generation projects. The ideal candidate will oversee integration of SCADA systems with plant operations, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure reliable data acquisition and control for optimal plant performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement SCADA systems for fuel cell power generation projects.
- Integrate SCADA platforms with plant operations and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues to maintain optimal plant performance and reliability.
- Manage network infrastructure and enforce cybersecurity protocols for all SCADA operations.
- Support remote monitoring activities and respond to real-time operational alerts.
- Perform system upgrades, maintain thorough documentation, and train plant operators on SCADA functionality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout all SCADA processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SCADA engineering experience, preferably in energy or industrial automation
- Proficiency in SCADA software platforms, PLC programming, and industrial communication protocols
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Working Environment / Working Conditions
- Work in office, laboratory, fabrication, and field environments.
- Periodic outdoor work in operating power plant environments during commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and use hand tools and test equipment.
- Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Travel up to 25% domestic or international.
- Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
