Core responsibilities
- Lead requirements development, architecture assessment, and system-level interoperability analysis.
- Provide senior-level technical oversight for integration and test efforts across ground and space communication systems.
- Own technical risk management, including identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and tracking resolution.
- Lead schedule-driven technical activities, maintain integrated master schedules, and coordinate multi-program dependencies.
- Guide system validation efforts, including RF/antenna performance verification and ground station integration tests.
- Represent engineering leadership at NASA lifecycle reviews, milestone assessments, and readiness evaluations.
- Capture and manage stakeholder engagement throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Collaborate with NASA centers, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment across technical objectives.
- Drive high-level technical decision-making, architecture trades, and engineering process improvements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar field.
- Experience: 10-15+ years of experience in satellite communications, RF systems, or mission operations engineering.
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Preferred Skills: Expert-level knowledge of NASA lifecycle processes, program leadership, and milestone preparation; advanced technical expertise in RF systems, antenna engineering, link budgets, and communication architectures; experience with NASA communications networks such as TDRSS, NSN, DTE, DSN, and commercial networks; strong risk management, schedule leadership, and cross-organizational coordination skills; PMP certification preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
