About the role

It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion-dollar business, and we are looking for a Sr SAP FICO Solutions Architect to work in a start-up environment. As the FI & CO expert, you will possess both functional and technical expertise, enabling you to collaborate with technology teams and demonstrate strategic thinking for Amazon Leo initiatives. You will tackle a wide range of problem-solving situations, leveraging your deep understanding of business processes and SAP configuration to design solutions, enhance systems, and provide production support. You will work closely with other SAP functional teams to ensure scalability and cost-effective manufacturing of satellites and ground gateway terminals. Success in this role requires high motivation, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build SAP Finance-based product vision and solutions.
  • Identify and implement best practices to optimize business processes using SAP, championing utility, intuitiveness, and simplicity.
  • Conduct blueprint workshops, fit-gap analysis, and produce detailed design documents by reasoning from core business needs and challenging assumptions.
  • Identify change management and training needs; support the creation of training documentation and lead train-the-trainer sessions for product changes.
  • Participate in strategic planning and roadmap discussions for SAP finance solutions, including contributions to Amazon’s 1-year to 3-year annual planning.
  • Manage quarterly planning, sprint planning, and deployment of product feature enhancements, focusing on business value, impact, and reasoning.
  • Define critical metrics, including success metrics, product adoption, and data-driven insights for product improvement.
  • Prepare product design, functional specifications, configure, test, and support implementation for all SAP RICEFW areas.
  • Build and support integration with cross-workstream processes, including SAP PP, EWM, MM, and SAP MES systems.
  • Provide SAP production system support for ticket resolution, business support needs, and identifying product improvement opportunities.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects related to the SAP FICO module from design to deployment, including integration with Amazon Corporate systems.
  • Build deployment project plans and manage risks impacting successful delivery.
  • Develop use cases by gathering business requirements, collaborate with software development to build required features, and clearly communicate dependencies and exceptions.
  • Participate in and build Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate proposed solutions using SAP S/4.
  • Actively participate in Unit Test, System Integration Test, User Acceptance Test, and User Training.
  • Apply strong knowledge of business processes to design, develop, and test SAP S/4 HANA ERP functionality, including expertise in general ledger, accounts payable, project system, cost center accounting, product costing, and profit center accounting.
  • Configure SAP S/4 HANA FICO to meet business requirements, including integration points with PP, MM, PS, SD, and other modules, and implementation of SAP best practices.
  • Navigate ambiguity and drive consensus among cross-functional stakeholder groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • 6+ years of implementing and managing SAP ERP solutions, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA experience.
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing, creating system specifications, developing tests, and implementing business solutions utilizing SAP Finance.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP FI modules (Finance, Controlling, Asset Management).
  • 6+ years of SAP experience with a focus on end-to-end design and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting business processes and requirements.
  • Strong understanding of core financial processes: General Ledger (GL), Project System, Product Costing, Material Ledger, month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Knowledge of integration points between FI and other SAP modules such as MM and PP.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, perform reconciliation, and troubleshoot transactional issues.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Finance and Supply Chain.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Skills

  • Preferred: Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with integrations involving SAP Procurement, Manufacturing, and Inventory Management.
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA with RISE.
  • Comprehensive understanding of custom development approaches and integration strategies from both technical and functional perspectives.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., SAP Fiori embedded analytics or BI tools).

Pay

The base salary range for this position is:

  • USA, TX, Dallas: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Bellevue: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
