About the role
We are seeking a seasoned SAP Basis / SAP Platform Engineer responsible for the architecture, installation, configuration, performance tuning, and day-to-day operation of complex SAP landscapes that may span on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-hosted environments. This role is critical to keeping mission-critical SAP systems available, performant, secure, and compliant. The ideal candidate will partner with infrastructure, security, and SAP functional teams to deliver a stable, well-governed SAP platform.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, HANA database, and other SAP systems
- Perform SAP installations, configurations, performance tuning, and system monitoring
- Execute SAP system copies, upgrades, EHP/SP applications, and system conversions
- Implement and manage SAP migrations to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Develop and maintain SAP HA/DR strategies, including HANA System Replication and clustering
- Manage SAP transport management and Solution Manager ChaRM
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP platform issues with strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
- Ensure SAP systems are secure, compliant, and available for mission-critical operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Five or more years of SAP Basis / platform engineering experience in large enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience administering SAP HANA databases in production
- Experience operating S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, Solution Manager, and other NetWeaver systems
- Hands-on experience with SAP migrations to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Solid experience with SAP upgrades, EHP/SP application, and system conversions
- Working knowledge of SAP transport management and Solution Manager ChaRM
- Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP certifications in HANA, S/4HANA, or Basis administration
- Experience with SAP RISE / Grow and SAP Cloud ALM
- Familiarity with SAP BTP and integration with hyperscaler-native services
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code for SAP landscapes (Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience operating regulated SAP workloads (SOX, GxP, PCI)
