The Work You Will Do
- Inspects public lodging and food service establishments for compliance with environmental health and sanitation regulations, rules and regulations, and other safety or sanitation-related areas as deemed necessary.
- Maintains records and files for one year. Conducts regulatory and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) inspections of public food service establishments and lodging facilities.
- Provides consultation and prepares reports relating to safety and sanitation problems.
- Prepares administrative reports and maintains inspection activity data reports on a daily basis.
- Maintains appropriate continuing education requirements.
- Identifies and licenses temporary food service events as required.
- Performs technology duties which includes but is not limited to computer software and hardware, data systems and Versa: Regulation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of laws and rules pertaining to sanitation and safety inspections.
- Experience in a variety of inspection activities.
- Ability to work on a team and participate in team activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver license;
- Must be able to stand for long periods; bend, lift, climb, stoop, and carry work equipment;
- Must be able to work independently and complete assigned health and safety inspections each workday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in any area;
- Two-year Associate degree in culinary or hospitality management;
- One or more years of industry-related experience.
