Senior Salesforce Developer
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Salesforce Developer to join our growing team in Richmond. This role is ideal for someone with 6+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development who is eager to expand their skills and contribute to impactful CRM solutions. You will work closely with senior developers, business analysts, technical/solution architects and stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain Salesforce applications that support our business operations and customer engagement strategies. A Senior Salesforce Developer with Agile and SAFe experience creates and maintains Salesforce solutions, writes Apex code and Lightning Components, and participates in Agile sprints and ceremonies while adhering to SAFe principles of iterative development and continuous feedback. This role requires translating user stories into technical design collaborating with cross-functional teams and business SMEs, mentoring and delegating work to junior developers, performing unit and integration testing, code reviews, maintaining the deployment pipelines and sandbox environments, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of custom Salesforce applications.
- Understand when to extend Salesforce using declarative development (Flows, App Builder, Page layouts, Custom Objects) and when to customize using code written in Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.
- Design and implement scalable solutions that align with business goals and Salesforce best practices.
- Leverage AI-powered Salesforce tools such as Agentforce, Einstein GPT, Einstein Bots, and predictive analytics to enhance user experience and business insights.
- Collaborate with businesss stakeholders, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Manage integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs, middleware, and third-party tools.
- Oversee code reviews, testing, deployment, and release management processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within the Salesforce environment.
- Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, new features, AI capabilities, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development and administration.
- Advanced proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and Salesforce Flows.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, and security.
- Experience with integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi) and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification required; additional certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect) are a plus.
- Proven track record of delivering complex Salesforce solutions in enterprise environments.
- Agile & SAFe Participation: Engage in Agile/SAFe processes like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives. Contribute to scaled agile ceremonies and workflows.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to generate code.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of cloud environments and integrations (APIs, middleware, Mulesoft).
- Background in enterprise IT environments with compliance or regulated industries.
- Agile/SAFe Experience: Hands-on experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and familiarity with the principles of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) framework.

Pay & Benefits
- Base Pay Range: $120,000 – $200,000
- Competitive compensation package as part of Total Rewards, determined by performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets.
