About the role
The United States Copyright Office, a service unit located within the Library of Congress and under the direction of the Register of Copyrights, administers the Copyright Law, providing legal advice and services to the public and Congress.
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day customer and operational support to the Chief, Packard Campus.
- Serves as a public facing presence for Library of Congress, delivering excellent customer service to all visitors to the Retail Store.
- Planners the work of the Design and Printing Office, evaluates and recommends purchase of equipment and materials required; space requirements; and staffing.
- Serves as a specialist in matters dealing with the countries, languages and regions within the Section's geographic area of responsibility.
- Assures the provision of timely and accurate reference services within the Library’s Science and Business Reading Room and online.
- Works under the guidance of the Division Chief, the incumbent assures the provision of timely and accurate reference services within the Library’s Science and Business Reading Room and online.

Requirements
- A degree in chemistry, material, or heritage science as well as at least 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- One year-time-in-grade at GS-08 grade level or equivalent.

Pay
- GS-08: $46,610 - $60,593 PER YEAR
- GS-09: $54,430 - $68,304 PER YEAR
