About the Role
We are partnering with a leading national contractor to identify a Senior Safety Manager (or Project Safety Director for the right candidate) for a major data center campus development at a pivotal stage. This is a unique opportunity to build the project's safety function from the ground up, shaping project culture, influencing leadership teams, and ensuring the highest standards of safety performance across a complex construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead all project safety activities across large-scale mission critical construction projects.
- Develop and implement project-specific safety programmes, procedures, and initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and manage a growing team of safety professionals as the project expands.
- Partner closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to drive a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct audits, inspections, training programmes, and incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Provide strategic leadership on high-risk construction activities and major project scopes.
Requirements
- Senior-level construction safety experience on large, complex construction projects.
- Previous experience supporting projects valued at $500M+.
- Experience on mission critical, data center, advanced technology, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, or similarly complex construction environments.
- Proven track record leading and developing high-performing safety teams.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk management, and construction safety practices.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, mentor, and scale project safety organisations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Professional safety certification such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or equivalent preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience will also be considered.
