Senior Safety Manager - Central Region

About the role

The Senior Safety Manager oversees and administers safety processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations. They advise on EHS compliance and implement necessary changes.

Responsibilities

• Designs, plans, and implements EHS policies and procedures in line with regulatory bodies and standards like OSHA, EPA, etc.
• Advises the safety director on EHS compliance concerns and preventive measures.
• Manages safety surveys, inspections, findings, recommendations, and ensures their implementation.
• Manages post-incident investigations and tracks relevant metrics.
• Develops and implements training programs for employees.
• Hires, manages, and develops direct reports.

• Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Construction Management, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in EHS in the construction industry.
  • 3 years of experience managing other professionals as a Senior Level Manager.
  • Data center construction or service experience (battery replacement, Switchgear, HVAC).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations/standards and other non-regulatory safety standards.
  • Experience with NFPA 70E.
  • Environmental compliance experience is a plus.
  • Experience with incident investigations and RCA.
  • Experience with developing, integrating, and managing tools & applications to reduce or eliminate business EHS risks.
  • Experience with MOC and writing JHAs, SOPs, EOPs, MOPS, Hazcom, technical reports, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with clients while delivering outstanding customer relations skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications such as: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • BCSP credentials are a plus (CHST, CSP, etc.).
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance is preferred.
