Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I responsible for implementing the company's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensuring a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

- Implement and administer safety programs at worksites, including site-specific safety activities and training programs. - Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, and analyze loss control data. - Lead OSHA reporting, monitor subcontractor activities, and review safety submittals. - Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics. - Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, and maintain knowledge of safety standards. - Serve as a resource for safety issues, attend safety meetings, and assist with major incident analysis. - Work with client safety personnel, union representatives, and insurance risk engineers. - Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent; or high school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and at least 10 years construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional. - Minimum of four years of construction safety experience. - Current valid driver’s license. - Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programs. - Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills. - Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectively. - Willingness to travel up to 100%.

Pay Range

The base pay range for this role is $89,000-$120,000MAX. (Actual range is higher for Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
