Senior Robotics Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety analysis

• Develop safety requirements and safety plans
• Perform system safety and hazard analysis
• Review and interpret robotics safety regulations and standards
• Monitor client safety performance
• Conduct safety inspections
• Assist in regulatory compliance
• Train clients on robotics safety program development, performance, documentation, and regulatory acceptance
• Solve complex safety issues related to robotics systems, including both hardware and software safety
• Manage, train, and mentor Junior Safety Engineers
• Support business growth by engaging new clients through outreach, networking, publishing papers, and presenting at industry conferences

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience as a Safety Engineer, with a focus on robotics systems
• Experience leading a safety program from inception through execution
• Expertise in technical safety analysis including hazard analyses, risk assessments, FTAs, and RBDs
• Thorough understanding of the safety lifecycle in robotics and automation contexts
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations including IEC 61508, ISO 13849, and ISO 13482
• Experience with both software and hardware safety in robotics systems
• Superior communication abilities, capable of articulating complex technical data in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in technical documentation
• Preferred: Functional Safety Expert certificate or equivalent, Professional Engineer (PE) license
