Senior Robotics & Automation Engineer

About the role

The Senior Robotics & Automation Engineer leads the technical delivery of advanced robotic systems for GE Vernova's blade production, focusing on bridging NTI implementations with factory-floor industrialization. They also serve as the automation lead for key initiatives, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with the MGTP roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end industrialization of complex robotic systems, from concept to factory commissioning and validation.
• Leverage a network of automation suppliers to identify and qualify partners, guiding the engineering team through rigorous vendor selection processes.
• Author and standardize automation control strategies (PLC/Robotics) to ensure consistency across the global manufacturing fleet.
• Architect IIoT-integrated diagnostic tools to transition the factory from reactive troubleshooting to predictive process control, using data-driven insights to optimize SQDC.
• Manage external technology partners, audit their deliverables to ensure compliance with GE Vernova’s standards, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
• Drive the adoption of "Design for Automation" (DfA) principles during early-stage product design and champion a "Safety First" culture by engineering automated safety zoning and fail-safe systems.
• Embrace rapid prototyping and iterative development, influencing stakeholders through technical expertise, and demonstrate a passion for sustainability and lean manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Extensive deep-domain experience in high-complexity automation/robotics, preferably within a manufacturing environment (Wind/Blades experience highly preferred).
• Demonstrated history of leading technical automation projects through the full lifecycle with accountability for budget, schedule, and technical performance.
• Proven track record in managing external automation suppliers and leading complex vendor selection/qualification processes.
• Expertise in industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA) and PLC/HMI platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Willingness to travel (approx. 20%) to support trials, factory start-ups, and supplier visits.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is between $104,600.00 and $174,400.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility is discretionary annual bonus.

Schedule

Full-time position with occasional travel required (approx. 20%).
