About the role
The Robotics Focus Applications (RFAS) Team at Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) is seeking a Robotics Applications Engineer to join our global robotics team. Located in the Wilmington office in Boston, MA, this role will be integral to expanding ADI's revenue globally in the areas of mounted robots, mobile robots, and humanoids.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and validation of hardware, software, and embedded systems for advanced robotic platforms, with a focus on humanoid applications.
- Support demos and customer engagements as needed in the US region for both humanoid and mobile/mounted robot applications.
- Create and optimize system architectures for robotics solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions for humanoid robots and related platforms.
- Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand system-level requirements and ensure solutions meet project goals.
- Participate in the ideation and definition of new products to enable growth in the robotics market.
- Develop technical training materials and application notes for Field Application Engineers.
- Stay current on trends in robotics, AI, and sensing technologies, sharing insights to inform team projects and strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related) with 4+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Experience with Analog Sensing Circuit Design.
- Hands-on experience in robotics systems development (PCB, firmware, or FPGA experience a plus).
- Familiarity with humanoid, mobile robotics, collaborative robots, and/or industrial vision technologies (e.g., ToF, radar, sensor fusion).
- Understanding of motion control concepts (BLDC, PMSM drives) and interest in learning advanced techniques.
- Understanding of industrial connectivity (Ethernet, EtherCAT, CANFD, T1S/T1L).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communicator and proactive collaborator in a diverse, international team environment.
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to the success of cutting-edge robotics projects.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident, or Protected Individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) may be required for positions requiring access to technical data.
- Required travel: Yes, 10% of the time.
- Shift Type: 1st Shift/Days.
Benefits
- Expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $110,385 to $151,808.
- This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
