MSG is expanding our Transportation Team in Michigan and seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer & Detroit Metro Transportation Lead to lead roadway and utility design projects in a fully 3D digital environment. This role includes supervisory responsibilities, overseeing a team of seven designers in our Detroit office, and offers significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of roadway design plans and 3D models for local agency projects
- Perform and review design calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Prepare design packages for milestone client submittals, including estimates, special provisions, and RID packages
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team
- Support MDOT projects as needed, applying similar expertise and leadership
- Oversee and manage a team of seven designers, ensuring successful project delivery and professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 12–15 years’ experience working with MDOT transportation and Local Agency
- Michigan PE with the ability to become registered in other states
- Knowledge of OpenRoads ORD design software is required; AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus
- Experience working as a Project Manager
- Desire and ability to manage a team

Pay
$58.00 – $71.00 per hour
