Summary

Responsible for the development and implementation of bank-wide integrated Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program. Administrative oversight of Internal Audit, Compliance and BSA functions of the Bank to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Enable efficient and effective governance of significant risks to balance risk and reward.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage organizational risk by conducting activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Follows direction set by President & CEO, Board of Directors, Risk & Compliance and Audit Committees of the Board of Directors.
  • Reviews programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit consistent with the risk recognized by the Board of Directors.
  • Create process for assessing, identifying, monitoring, and mitigating business risk.
  • Ensure the Bank complies with operating policies and procedures.
  • Conduct meetings with C-level executives and other senior management within the Bank that are assigned risk management responsibilities to discuss problems or explain procedural changes or practices necessary to mitigate risk.
  • Provide leadership and direction; establish work priorities to achieve risk goals and objectives.
  • Provide administration of risk activities; foster the integration of risk management practices throughout the Bank.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive ERM governance framework.
  • Oversee the Information Security team and the Bank’s vendor management process.
  • Develop and revise risk management policies; ensure quantification of management’s risk appetite (policy limits and triggers).
  • Prepare periodic reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors to include the Risk Dashboard, Executive Scorecard, Risk Profile and Narrative Summary.
  • Collaborate and work with policy administrator and counsel to ensure that policies are in compliance with banking laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure new policies and policy changes are effected timely to include the introduction of new products, revised workflows (procedures), revisions to laws, rules or regulations which are applicable to the Bank.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulators, providing quarterly updates as required.
  • As needed, attend Board meetings and serve on management committees as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required plus a Master's degree preferred; 15 years of banking experience, 10 years in risk, compliance or internal audit.
  • Possess strong leadership skills with prior managerial experience.
