Senior Risk Manager
About the role
The Senior Risk Manager will develop a Risk Management Plan and drive the identification, evaluation, treatment, and overall governance of project risks. This critical role requires strong leadership, analytical capability, and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
Responsibilities
- Leads Risk Management activities within Advanced Nuclear for Small Modular Reactors for large-scale EPC Projects.
- Manages Risk & Opportunity identification, discussion, and mitigation actions throughout the entire project life cycle, including follow-up and support.
- Applies strong analytical skills to move between detailed data analysis, operational reviews, and senior leadership communication.
- Demonstrates leadership, influencing, and management skills, working independently and communicating effectively across all organizational levels.
- Enables cross-functional alignment by working closely with Project Management, PMO, functional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure Risk Management priorities are understood and delivered.
- Drives risk-related daily management routines, operational risk reviews, performance tracking, and supports leaders in resolving bottlenecks through structured problem-solving.
- Serves as the expert and primary point of contact for Risk Management within the Project team.
- Benchmarks internal and external risk management process best practices.
- Refines and improves processes, KPIs, and communication rhythms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university or college.
- Proficient in using industry-standard tools for risk analysis involving Monte Carlo simulations, such as SAFRAN or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the nuclear industry (engineering/operations, project management, risk management, construction management, or contracts management).
- At least 3 years of risk management or project management experience.
- Solid understanding of contract terms, legal principles, and relevant technical, financial, cost, and project risk management principles.
- Ability to handle multiple complex issues/projects concurrently.
- Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 10% of the time.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Pay
For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range is between $137,600 and $187,599 CAD. For U.S.-based positions, the pay range is between $135,800 and $226,400 USD, with a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. Pay may be influenced by experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: 5% discretionary annual bonus (Canada) or discretionary annual bonus (U.S.).
