Senior Risk Engineer- Powergen

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site risk engineering surveys and desktop reviews for conventional power and renewable energy risks.
• Assess operational plants and construction projects, including complex and large-scale exposures.
• Deliver clear, actionable risk assessments to support accurate and profitable underwriting decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and risk insights to US Underwriters and Claims teams, as well as our insureds.
• Analyze risk quality, identify loss drivers, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support claims analysis and help drive risk improvement opportunities across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a technical discipline, such as Chemical, Process, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least five years’ experience in relevant process industries and a background in at least one of the following areas in a managerial, technical or consultancy role: Operations, Operations Support, Maintenance, Inspection, Loss Prevention, or Process Safety.
• Demonstrated strong communication and listening skills in order to develop and maintain relationships with Underwriters, Risk Engineers, Claims teams, other Liberty Mutual Staff and Clients.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use required software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Should be able to create/modify documents and complex spreadsheets.
