Senior Risk & Compliance Data Analyst

Duties

• Leads development and maintenance of data analytics to support continuous monitoring of risk and compliance
• Manages and maintains the department's data library, analytics library, dashboards, and analytics tools
• Affords assistance and support to the various RMC units in special projects and assignments, as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of related experience
• A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of direct experience

Preferences

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in management information systems, finance, mathematics, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field
• Experience in SQL or Other programming languages and data visualization tools
• Experience in risk management, auditing and/or developing, implementing, and evaluating internal controls

• Knowledge of industry best practices for controls, policies, and procedures
• Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through skills
• Excellent organizational skills including the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, consistently produce accurate work, meet deadlines and to provide detailed documentation that supports processes and results
• Advanced computer literacy (with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, database applications and reporting) and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with internal staff across all levels of the SBA and external organizations, maintain rapport and build trust
• Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and demonstrate flexibility necessitated by changing priorities
• Ability to monitor and maintain quality control standards
• Ability to conduct research, compile data, and present results in an effective manner
• Ability to solve complex problems, primarily related to large data sets and related queries and calculations
• Ability to think critically and creatively
• Exercise initiative and work independently, but also as a team player
