Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead and key contributor in design and development of RF subsystems for implantable and external neuromodulation products, focusing on BLE communications.
  • Design, analyze, and document RF circuits, matching networks, antenna systems, and associated wireless architectures to meet performance, power consumption, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform RF simulation, modeling, and analysis using industry‑standard tools to predict and optimize wireless performance across product operating environments.
  • Develop and execute RF characterization, verification, and validation test strategies, including conducted and over‑the‑air (OTA) testing, antenna performance evaluation, coexistence testing, range testing, and wireless protocol verification.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, firmware, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to integrate wireless technologies into complex medical device platforms.
  • Investigate complex RF and wireless communication issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to support product development and sustaining activities.
  • Partner with suppliers, test laboratories, and manufacturing organizations to support component selection, antenna implementation, design for manufacturability, and successful product transfer to production.
  • Support wireless regulatory compliance activities, including FCC, ISED, ETSI, Bluetooth SIG, and other applicable regional and industry requirements.
  • Effectively communicate technical information, project status, risks, and recommendations across all levels of the organization to support informed decision‑making.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in RF, wireless communication, or related engineering field.
  • Strong technical experience in RF circuit design, wireless system development, and RF verification testing.
  • Experience with RF matching network design, antenna development, and wireless performance optimization.
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience developing and executing RF characterization, verification, and validation testing.
  • Experience working in a regulated product development environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience developing wireless products and RF systems.
  • Experience developing Class III medical devices or implantable medical products.
  • Experience designing BLE radio architectures and optimizing wireless performance in highly constrained, low‑power systems.
  • Experience with electromagnetic (EM) simulation, antenna modeling, and RF design tools such as HFSS, CST, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with conducted and over‑the‑air (OTA) wireless testing methodologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting RF performance issues related to antenna efficiency, matching, coexistence, interference, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
  • Experience in automating measurements using Python, C#, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of wireless regulatory and certification requirements including FCC, ISED, ETSI, Bluetooth SIG, and EMC standards.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional product development teams throughout the product lifecycle.
